New Castle Historical Society members support the organization through annual membership dues which are used for the daily operation of the organization, our museums and gardens, and our educational programming. In return, our members enjoy free access to our museums and discounts on many of our programs including lectures, workshops, and special events. Additionally, we create special members-only functions like exhibit preview nights or one-time lectures or programs.

Some members eventually get more involved by volunteering, but it's not a requirement of membership.

We offer five levels of membership (Individual, Household, Patron, 1651 Benefactor & New Castle Steward) with different benefits for each:

All members receive:

• Unlimited free admission for members to the Amstel House & Dutch House

• Reduced or free admission to popular events including demonstrations, walking tours, lectures and special exhibitions

• 10% discount on purchases in our museum store at The Arsenal

• An annual keepsake gift

• Invitations to social events including the annual Garden Party, Fezziwig's Ball and exhibit openings

• Free or reduced admission to certain Society events, including lectures and special exhibits

• Automatic enrollment in the nationwide Time Travelers program with more than 300 institutions in 40 states

• Society newletter covering the latest hapenings and upcoming events

 

Additional benefits are available for some levels of membership

• Free admission for additional guests per membership per year to the Amstel and Dutch Houses at key membership levels:

- Household Members are allowed two guests per year

- Patron Members are allowed four guests

- 1651 Benefactor and New Castle Steward Members are allowed eight guests

• $100 discount on event rentals at The Arsenal (at the Household level thru 1651 Benefactors); $300 discount for New Castle Stewards

• Patrons, 1651 Benefactors and New Castle Stewards receive automatic enrollment in the North American Reciprocal Museum Association with over 900 member institutions
