THE RONALD OLLSTEIN COLLECTION
EARLY SPRING 2023
This short-term exhibition in the Old Library Museum will feature historic documents collected personally by Dr. Ronald Ollstein. Most documents features signatures of people that are prominent in local, national or world history.
This exhibition will explore New Castle's European beginnings through the history of Fort Casimir, established in 1651 by the Dutch. The exhibit highlights the history of the fort, conflicts that it was involved in, and recent archaeological investigations that have shed new light on the fort and the lives of 17th century European settlers in the New Castle area.

The Perfection of Travelling explored the experience of traveling through early America, Delaware and New Castle during the two centuries ending in 1851. Not solely focused on modes of transportation, The Perfection of Travelling presents the differing perspectives and experiences of various people through original journals, images and artifacts.
